Saint Lucia Is The Only Country In The World Named After A Woman

The world is loaded with countries, more than you can count on one hand. How many of those countries do you think were named after a woman? Would you be surprised to learn that only one country was named after a woman? It’s true, and that country is Saint Lucia. You’d think that with women making up well over half of the world’s population, there would be more than one country named after a woman. It looks like women have a lot of work to do to make up for lost time. Maybe this will be a motivation to name a few more countries after women.
