Have you ever wondered how ants seem to know where they’re going? Ants don’t have GPS, and they can’t go to a gas station and buy a road map. It seems that ants leave a trail behind them as they walk other ants use that as a map. The trail makes it possible for the ants to know where to go. Imagine if the next time you get lost, instead of asking a stranger for directions, you instead follow a map left by others. Ants don’t get lost, so as quirky as it sounds, the maps somehow work for them.
